Very early start at the Hobart Airport
and finally on our last place ride...and looking happy about it!
Instead we jumped on a ferry to Airlie Beach...
The weather was beautiful (a little too humid for my liking, but a nice sea breeze)
The view from our hotel...
Next day we began our adventure for real...starting off with a morning jetski tour (We are the second ski)
They provide you with amazing hats and sunglasses that don't fall off..and look GREAT! Hayden drove first...then it was my turn!
It was lots of fun... see i'm smiling! We got to see some Sea Turtles in the wild, they were huge! And amazing and very fast swimmers!
That night we dined on the our room balcony (for about 2 and a half minutes then the mosquitoes enjoyed landing on my dinner and we packed up and went inside faster than you could say, "ew there's a mosquito on my piece of chicken!")
The next day we went on a trip to the Great Barrier Reef (or "The GBR" as it became affectionately named by Hayden)You are taken on a two hour ferry trip out to a pontoon on Hardy Reef, there are lots of activities...so the first thing we did was jump into the glass bottom sub to check out the reef...
I have to say..it wasn't very impressive...
Their was also an underwater viewing station on the pontoon...cute fish!
Me with the GBR behind me...
The GBR
Snorkelling at the GBR...this is where I chose not to place the photo of me in my full length lycra stinger suit...and i'm talking ankle to little mittens and a hood....awesome! Every time you get in the ocean up here they ask you to put one on.
Bit of sitting around in the sun on top of the pontoon...
Before we landed on the Beach we did some Snorkelling at a small reef not too far away from it, and it was much nicer than the GBR, lots more colours in the Coral!
When we got to the beach
the sand was extremely white! You definitely needed your sunnies!Sadly after a full on action packed time away we headed home...
Dreaming about multimillion dollar Yachts...
The airport on Hamilton Island...
and one last selfie.
End.
