Besterest Besties...

Half a decade ago we three wise peeps were gracing the corridors of the University of Tasmania Launceston Campus...
Major Accomplishments included-

HD on our first group assignment!! Maths I think it was...GO TEAM!

Playing Golf during break times on the cushy Library chairs...

Writing funny short stories and drawing odd pictures during boring lectures (so all the time)

Car pooling and 'Hapkido' (You know how it goes Scott and Ess;)

Managing to get most of our tutes together...was this a good thing or a bad thing?

'Helping' each other with assignments...which meant ...going to Scotts house and playing computer games...

The day we were STRESSING cause we didn't have an assignment done ... we got to uni and the campus was SHUT because of water problems...YES...so we headed back to Scotts to use our extra day 'wisely' and ended up...

...playing computer games!!

Having Scott interpret our Chinese Third year education lecturer's accent for us!

Predicting that our baskeball team would win by a hundred points that night...and then WE DID!! Remember that Ess?? haha...

Laughing at harriet high pants and helping each other collect assignments from the batcave!!

Ess and I heading off on the outdoor adventure camp...my first experience with horse riding...we then got back and explained how I went to Scott ...who did the BEST impression of my horse riding experience EVA!

The day a bunch of third year human movement students made us come in to uni ON A SATURDAY to throw a bean bag around...we then all got bailed into a room and told off for cheating!! ah good times!

The time we all agreed that we hated the outdoor ed, course and would let our true feelings show in our assignment...except Esther and I chickened out and got good marks by telling the lecturer what they wanted to hear...Scott told the truth and...failed....(Still sorry bout that Scott!)

oooh and the best part was all of our ICT tutes which we had two hours to do...we'd finish in 10min with Scotts help and then spend the rest of the time...you guessed it...playing computer games!!! haha

We had the best time!
How the heck did we graduate?

Tassie taste tour...

After a fantastic Reception on Friday night (Thanks Jess and Kyle for the tucker...especially the CAKE!!) It was time to show some of our mainlander guests the culinary delights of the north coast...

The 'youngens' car consisted of Mr and Mrs Andrews, Kyle's Sister Rachael and our buddy 'Spud' ...aka 'picnic'... aka 'snickers' ...aka 'Adam for WA'

The 'Oldies' car consisted of Mumsy...Bobby...Joe (Kyle's parents) and Lisa...

First stop the 'RASPBERRY FARM'...

No points for guessing what I ordered...hmmm...
RASPBERRY WAFFLES!!
Simon and Simone met us at the Raspberry farm and Simon very kindly offered to share his breakfast with me...see he gave me a WHOLE plate full...
Now check out the size of the plate...
Hallie was also generous ...NEARLY sharing her pancake with me...(Maybe without realising)
Now when one takes the 'tassie taste tour' it is tradition that one participates in the Raspberry farm 'Chocolate Raspberry Challenge'...On the counter at the Raspberry farm one will find a bowl of 'Chocolate Raspberry's'...These are provided for sampling (One per visit)....But the 'Chocolate Raspberry Challenge' Requires one to sneak AS MANY chocolate raspberry's as YOU CAN in one visit.
Dale was the previous record holder with 7...Finding creative ways to sneak a raspberry when the girls aren't looking is quite fun...

Final Tally - Collette = 9... Jess/Spud = 12!!

But the WINNER was Kyle's dad BOBBY who didn't even know about the challenge and managed to eat 15!! (He'd never enjoyed raspberry's before but couldn't get enough!!)

Next stop...Sheffield...and NO this isn't part of the awesome 'tassie taste tour' but it is part of mum's 'Oh why don't we pop into sheffield so I can bore everyone with all the things I did growing up' tour...
It was FREEZING...infact I asked mum if we could make our next stop Antarctica as I heard the weather was pretty good there...

Here is what looking at murals can do to you...
Us dying of boredom after it all got a little too much...We did find a cool shrek though that the Kids REALLY enjoyed...hmm

Okay where to next? Paradise? No where else? The promise land? (They're all on the sign..get your magnifying glass out!)So anyway back to the REAL tour after we finally escaped sheffield 'town of murals' or is that 'memorials'? Kyle? ... it was off to Latrobe to the BEST SHOP IN THE WORLD...
Reliquaire
The shop that has EVERYTHING...from scary mirror rooms complete with laser shows...to teddy bears and fairy costumes....soaps and bathrobes...games and dress ups...oh and the best bit FREE FUDGE when you come in the door!

After Latrobe it was off to CHOCOLATE TOWN...Anvers of course! For taste testing and Hot chocolate...only the BEST hot chocolate in the world!
Quick stop at the cherry farm...but that was just for mum cause she's the only one who likes Cherry's...and then onto...ASHGROVE...for some ...

CHEESE GROMMIT...

Okay so there's the CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY CHALLENGE at the Raspberry farm...and then there's the TWO YEAR OLD VINTAGE CHEDDAR challenge at the cheese factory...

Here are some classic pics...

Observe...Simon places the cheese in his mouth...

Two seconds later...
Hm next Kyle...Into the mouth...
hmm dang it...nothing phases this guy...hence why he married Jess:) jk!!!!
Okay Bobby's gotta give us a reaction...
Hmmm...thinking...thinking...
YES!!!
...and mum...
And yes after me having a good ol' laugh...Simon got me with the "Don't ask...just try" trick...turns out that Chillie Cheese is HOT!!Ah love it...Meanwhile Oliver has found himself the Colour the Cow and Count the Cheese table...
Spud and I thought we'd lend a hand with the milking...

Next stop...and the FINAL stop...Before rolling home...THE BEST BAKERY IN THE WORLD!...
Yes that's an E...a T and a C...So here is Kyle's dad Bobby talking about how "Chunky" Spud's pie is...of course when you hear a scottish accent say the word chunky...a certain dog food ad comes to mind...lucky Bobby is a good sport and happily said "So chunky you can calve it" for me :)
A MUST at the bakery...the best pies in the world...and the best custard tarts!!

After all that food (obviously took it's toll on Jess...see above) we rolled home to hang with the YSA and make the "It's just a tribute" Michael Jackson film....stay tuned for the finished product!

(This is spud dressed up for the 'Thriller' part of our film...yes it may look a little tacky and fake but hey "It's just a tribute")
