What do you do just before you have your second baby? Renovate of course!
Our old kitchen was a lovely mix of 50's tile, bible cover bench tops and apricot cabinetry...

...and this is after we had it opened up...
we used to enter the back room through a little cubby door way
The back of that wall in our family room was wood panelling... I was so glad to see it gone...just lightened everything up so much
we had fluorescent tube lighting in both rooms...we were able to get rid of the ugly fan and put in some down lights in the kitchen and we just had Rob put some LED spotlights in our family room...once again different lighting makes a huge difference!
The builders started on a Monday and were done by Thursday..then Hayden and I hit the paint before the kitchen installer started the next Tuesday.
The kitchen took from Tuesday to Thursday to install fully,
Then it was time for the splashback...

The whole reno makes a huge difference to the feel of the house...i'm actually happy to entertain now; and cook in my kitchen. We still have to do the floors and a couple of other touch ups but we have decided to do that when we return from Darwin...oh yeah did I mention we are moving to Darwin for 6 months? EXCITING!
