Easter day trip...

Easter Tuesday we decided to take a drive south to have a look at the fire devastated Dunalley.

On the way I couldn't believe how wide spread the fire was, it was huge, taking out hills and hills of trees. It really was amazing to see which homes survived and which ones didn't, like direct neighbours with one house gone and the other one untouched.
We continued a little further south to check out the tessellated pavement...

I loved seeing the new bright green on the burnt trees, and the beautiful blue water backdrop!

The things you do for love...

When your husband wants to go to Nitro Circus for his birthday...you go...despite the fact that watching flat peak hat, tat covered, low shorts, pulled up socks, chunky shoed sk8ta boys that remind you of annoying twelvies doing fully sick tricks on their dirt bikes and bmx bikes isn't really top on your 'to do' list.

Well this random massive green shirt guy loved it... maybe cause he could see!

I have to admit some of the tricks were pretty cool, especially the guy that had broken his leg twice, both times attempting a trick on his bmx, and this was his next attempt... and he landed it! Overall I would say it wasn't the best way to spend $60 (each.) But Hayden loved it, and so did Hallie, so it was all worth it...just to see the joy on their faces.

Wanna see what it looks like? (The joy I mean) Here it is...The love of my life after his birthday steak...

Happy Birthday Hayds! Patrick Dempsey aint got nothin' on you!

Something to prove...

What happens when you let something that was supposed to prove for 30min, rise overnight... (when I left it it was taking up about 1/3 of the thermie and the thermie lid was sitting on top...it's a monster!)

Where have YOU been?

Ok it's been ages! I know! but cut me some slack it's pretty busy being the three big 'P's' Principal...Primary President...and Pregnant...and yes i've been on holidays for ages and still haven't updated...but you just get out of the blog rhythm sometimes! SO...recently Hayden came home and announced he had five days off in a weeks time..so I jumped onto the net to find a nice place we could go...long story short...this is what happened...

Very early start at the Hobart Airport

a short break at the Melbourne Airport

Another stop at the Brisbane airport
and finally on our last place ride...and looking happy about it!

Touching down on Hamilton Island...no didn't stay here (That's for people with more money!)
Instead we jumped on a ferry to Airlie Beach...
The weather was beautiful (a little too humid for my liking, but a nice sea breeze)

 The view from our hotel...
Next day we began our adventure for real...starting off with a morning jetski tour (We are the second ski)

They provide you with amazing hats and sunglasses that don't fall off..and look GREAT! Hayden drove first...then it was my turn!

It was lots of fun... see i'm smiling! We got to see some Sea Turtles in the wild, they were huge! And amazing and very fast swimmers!

Some well deserved mocktails...
Because it's stinger season (which runs from Nov-May) no-one swims in the ocean, which is weird...so what does one do at Airlie beach when there is no-one swimming at the beach? Go to the man made lagoon of course! It was sooo nice...(and free)
That night we dined on the our room balcony (for about 2 and a half minutes then the mosquitoes enjoyed landing on my dinner and we packed up and went inside faster than you could say, "ew there's a mosquito on my piece of chicken!")

The next day we went on a trip to the Great Barrier Reef (or "The GBR" as it became affectionately named by Hayden)You are taken on a two hour ferry trip out to a pontoon on Hardy Reef, there are lots of activities...so the first thing we did was jump into the glass bottom sub to check out the reef...

I have to say..it wasn't very impressive...

Their was also an underwater viewing station on the pontoon...cute fish!
Me with the GBR behind me...
The GBR

Snorkelling at the GBR...this is where I chose not to place the photo of me in my full length lycra stinger suit...and i'm talking ankle to little mittens and a hood....awesome! Every time you get in the ocean up here they ask you to put one on.
Bit of sitting around in the sun on top of the pontoon...

and on our way home :)
Our final adventure it the whitsundays was ocean rafting to Whitehaven beach... it was beautiful!

Before we landed on the Beach we did some Snorkelling at a small reef not too far away from it, and it was much nicer than the GBR, lots more colours in the Coral!
When we got to the beach
the sand was extremely white! You definitely needed your sunnies!

Sadly after a full on action packed time away we headed home...

Dreaming about multimillion dollar Yachts...
The airport on Hamilton Island...

 and one last selfie.
End.
