Snow Spa

Saturday the 12th July, we arose EARLY and packed mum, her bathers, and her leisure suit, into the JAZZ all ready for her mystery day out....
Unfortunately Mumzy is quite good at guessing games and 1/4 of the way through the trip SHE started giving US directions on how to get to HER surprise destination...go figure!!
So we arrived at Cradle Mountain and headed up the snow filled path to the spa retreat building...oh yeah!!
We got to put on these awesome white robes and slippers and whilst mumsy had enjoyed her birthday pressy (A Hot Stone Massage) We relaxed in the jacuzi in the SNOW!!!
Check it out and smell the serenity...

The Drive in the feature packed jazz...

The Cool white robes (when we got there we got told off for being SO loud)
The Sanctuary...Playing in the spa before mum left for her massage...yes there is SNOW all around...and we are OUTSIDE...awesome!Waiting for mum to arrive back from her massage...haha and here she is...how relaxed does she look? Well at least her HAIR looks relaxed!!

Good as New!

A Gibson Classic

First Sunday in the month we travelled to Devonport for a YSA fast breaker...Jess and I made our staple classic Chocolate pudding ...This Dish has been in our family for years and is pretty much everyones favourite and the ONLY dessert we know how to cook! Unfortunately we decided to start cooking it (or Heating it up) at the chapel before we left and then finish it at the Woolley's home.

The result was a lovely rubber brown blob looking thing...

The pics don't do it justice because chocolate pudding always looks good...

But this was a disaster, Brad Doran still had a crack tho!

Apologies to the rest of the family for ruining our chocolate pudding reputation!

ZOODOO!

Saturday a few of the southern YSA decided to take Bek Prebble out for a birthday treat..
A trip to ZOODOO!...

Spot the monkey...

Here we have some PHSYCO mini ponys... we were watching the other animals when this little fella started nipping the one in the background... so the white cute one started grunting and squeling like a girl! It was AWESOME...and REALLY LOUD!

There were heaps of cool animals at ZOODOO, including some pretty big ol' Kangaroos...as you can see it was REALLY enjoyable hand feeding the animals...

There were heaps of Albino Wallabies...they were nothing like the ones i've demolished with my car...
Then came the BEST part of the day...
SAFARI!
It all started out pretty tame, the tour guide cracked some jokes about big birds and children loosing fingers and we played it tough and laughed along,

Then we entered the...

DANGER ZONE

The safari bus we were on had these loud speakers and all these sirens and buzzers start going off as we enter the EMU yard...now Bek and I were seated right up the back of the truck and we were enjoying the thrill of holding our food out behind us and laughing at the Emus that were chasing us shouting "Come on little birdy, come and get some food" ...

Little did we know... The safari bus was about to stop... and someone doesn't look happy about the jesting...

D D D DOOOM.... Lets just say the next few moments were a tiny bit frieky...those birds are pretty big, but there evil looking eyes and sharp pokey beaks don't do much for them.... Lets just say that Bek and I quickly changed out minds about feeding the birds...infact all I remember is yelling above the sirens (which were still blaring) "I don't wanna feed the birds anymore...aahhhh" etc.

Anyway finally the bus starts up again and we are off...laughing of our scardy cat natures and pretending to be tough again... we yell "haha can't get us...goodbye" to the emu's...

However...

If you think emu's are BIG

Then how about the OSTRICH yard?

These birds are MASSIVE...

Needless to say we were in a worse predicament...not helped by the fact that some people thought it would be funny to hold food near Bek and I as we tried to get away so that those MASSIVE LONG SCARY LOOKING LONG NECKED THINGS WOULD PECK AT US...

Don't believe me??

Check out the TERROR in this next photo...

Come on you'd be scared too!

The rest of the safari consisted of Camel spit and goat drool...lovely!

All in all we had a great time...Even got to pat a Koala... Here it is sleeping peacefully on it's branch...I wonder what would happen if we pushed it off?? (ELLE!)To top the day off we headed to the horse races... Elle and Nicole took out the prizes...which despite what Bek claimed were NOT chickens...No they didn't win a chicken...they got something heaps better...

A lollypop!
And lastly...yes kiddies thats right... The TASSIE TIGER...Almost made me want to runaway and join PETA however we had a gawk and took some pics all the same!

sNoW

Here is the ONLY good thing about the cold in tassie...SNOW...yay!

I was in Hobart town for some Professional Development on Friday...When I got to South Hobart primary I took this snap of the mountain...
Then at lunch time I took this snap... As you can see the fun is melting fast...Luckily Camilla and Elle had a GREAT idea to go up and check out the snow...

How good does this bush look? Come on, you would want to lick it too!

Normally the top of the mountain is so WINDY I can't stand being out of the car for more than 5min...but this afternoon it was so STILL and nice we stayed up there playing for at least 20min...it was the nicest time i've spent on top of the mountain (weather wise)...(Oh and company wise)...On the way back down the road was quite icey...we saw a car (that obviously had a hooligan driver behind the wheel) off the side of the road on one of the corners...we slowed down to gawk and discovered it was none other than MATHEW PAWSON and KERRY!! So we stopped and hopped out to help, this was not as easy as it sounds the ground was SO icey that when I stepped out of the car I immediately started sliding down the road...anyho we managed to rescue Kerry and the Boyz while Matthew waited for a tow. I would have photos to show you but when a lawyer sais...don't take any pictures...you don't take any pictures:)
What a great afternoon...p.s Matthew was SO cold I think I even spotted him wearing Kerry's Collingwood Scarf!! Oh yeah! (Probably the main reason why he didn't want me to take any pics!)

bAsKeT BaLl

So this is it...the Hobart girls team playing at Kingston...coming away with there FIRST WIN of the season...and I captured it on camera...

YAY:)

Tatts and Twister...

Saturday night the YSA attended a 'Spicks and Specks' activity...
Rob started the evening by going around all the teams and handing our treats (Freddo Frogs).... Dale, Brad and I were on a team and Rob thought it was HILARIOUS when he got to our table and chucked us a pack of tattoo's instead of the chocolate...but we didn't mind...
There was an AWESOME 'freddo playing tennis' tatt that I went to put on...but not having much experience with these things ...I didn't take off the plastic coverning before application... which meant instead of AWESOME tennis freddo transfering to my arm... he simply transfered to the plastic cover...bummer...
so I got stuck with 'skaterboy freddo'...
Notice that Whitty is trying to make his muscles look bigger in this pic? Thats because I out gun him...haha... Of course neither of us were competition for Dale's Guns:)
After the activity/maccas run (of course) We headed to the Gibbo's for some TWISTER...It all started off pretty tame...Great bum shot opportunities...Oop Jess Bradbury is out...Poor Rach...
The Girls turn...

Can everyone see that Jess is actually sitting down in this next pic?? CHEATER!
And the Boys turn...RIDICULOUS...

We soon discovered that Dale was winning ALL the games...see if you can figure out why in the next few pics...

Thats right "The old bum in the face with toxic gas to boot trick"
BTW I recommend the Get Smart movie...some of us YSA decided to check it out on Saturday and it was awesome!
Ka frieken boom!
